David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...an aggressively misbegotten romantic comedy... Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 29, 2010 Full Review Jason McKiernan Filmcritic.com Not a good movie, not a disaster, but merely a middle-of-the-road bore Rated: 2/5 Jun 26, 2009 Full Review Brian Orndorf DVDTalk.com It's an actor carnival trapped inside a web of harmless clichs, and while the material can be corrosive at times, the film manages to please with its amiable execution. Matthew A This movie was ... I was not inspired at all, entertainment was at a medium throughout the film. But like many accidents, you simply can't turn away... It was like taking a nap, the time was spent... Well spent, I really can't say. There was nothing to take a way from this, except 93 minutes (including credits) of nothingness... Take your chances on this one. The cast did a good job, the acting was on par, the dialogue was okay, it was just a weird story!!! Enjoy the rest and relaxation, your heartrate will not change throughout the movie... Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/06/24 Full Review Audience Member Holy cow is this movie bad. It appears promising in the beginning but drops off fast. Brandon Routh is the only upside to this film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Probably like the worst romantic comedy I think I've ever seen. I thought "The Ugly Truth" was awful and couldn't be beaten. I was dead-wrong. Extremely unfunny. I chuckled maybe once or twice. It's an hour and a half, standard length, but it felt a hell of a lot longer. Nobody is very likeable here. Scott, the hero, isn't supposed to be agitating but he is. Perhaps its because Brandon Routh offers no good, charismatic onscreen persona. He's just there, reciting lines like he belongs in a high school play. Sophia Bush and Jesse Bradford are sickeningly obnoxious throughout as codependent couple/roommates, Ryan and Mary. The only somewhat good thing these characters ever did was throw Scott a birthday party. At which point, by the way, Scott is revealed to be an ass too. This movie is just a mess. It's incredibly grating and I hated everybody in it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Una de las peores películas que he visto Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Picked it up because of the cast and was very pleasantly surprised. Brandon Routh has great comic timing and he's already my hero for being Superman, here's hoping he has a long career ahead of him! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I'll give it one star for the actors.... just because I like the work that Sophia Bush does...however, I think the movie was good. I just...I understand that Sophia Bush and Jesse Bradford are supposed to be portraying a "perfect" life with no arguments...yes, but... it was almost too fake, that it made me not enjoy it too much. Sorry.... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews
