Audience Member A work to soothe the egos of the General who felt excluded from Triumph of the Will, Day of Freedom is predictably one dimensional. As with any Riefenstahl film, it has its moments, but is a minor work. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Leni's attempts to display the military might of the Nazi Army started out strong but in the end falls flat and almost seems to be a self parody.(not that I want Nazis painted in a favorable light, but if one is researching the history of propaganda this film to me seems to be a bit off the mark) Ballet music playing as Nazis prance around on horses, and the "war games" seemed to have a Benny Hill quality to them. It does have a lot of up-close video of German mobile artillery machines, planes, tanks, and anti-aircraft guns, so it should appeal to World War Two buffs.
