Anton Bitel Little White Lies Prolific cult filmmaker Sion Sono has freely adapted the world of Yusuke Yamada's 2004 novel 'Riaru Onigokko' to expose the trappings of patriarchy. Nov 20, 2017 Full Review Emma Wolfe SpookyAstronauts It has a really cool undertone and message. Rated: 6/10 Oct 26, 2020 Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See Tag is bananas and awesome and completely deranged. But for all the fun and chaos and over-the-top gore, there are intriguing thematic currents that make it more interesting than just another bloody romp. Rated: B+ Jul 3, 2020 Full Review C.J. Prince Way Too Indie I was thoroughly entertained by Tag and its hyperactive, hyper-violent story. Rated: 7.5/10 Jun 3, 2019 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse Sono drifted far away from the book, instead shooting a surrealistic "Alice in Wonderland" film of sorts, which is filled though, with many of his usual perverse themes and notions. Mar 8, 2019 Full Review Amie Simon Three Imaginary Girls I had to admit that I was rooting for Mitsuko and Aki all along. That + fountains and fountains AND fountains of blood is really what makes Tag worth seeing. Mar 2, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Shaun E Tag is weird at best. The character 'Sur' says life is surreal, well Tag is certainly that, too. I watched this film because the entire subtitled movie was available for free on YouTube. The movie starts ordinarily enough and then goes into a gore fest with enough fake blood to fill a tanker. Sorry, horror fans, this is too ridiculous to count as horror. The character of Mitsuko (and her other iterations) is engaging enough to keep you watching the movie. There is a good degree of acting continuity between the multiple iterations of the main character and this helps a lot. Some of the background music is odd, but is used well in maintaining continuity. The movie continues as a gore fest for a while but then descends into ever increasing oddness. I won't give any plot spoilers here, but just to say that, if you do decide to watch then it is worth reaching the end to get some understanding of what the movie is about. This isn't a get your popcorn out movie night type of film. This is a discussion piece. And most of all, it is a movie that you will have a difficult time forgetting. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review Dale G This movie could have worked if it had any budget, but the abysmal CGI blood and other effects made the whole thing laughable at best and just tough to look at. The script and directing were also pretty terrible. The only good things about this movie were probably the general concept, which was unfortunately executed terribly (many problems even beyond the horrible CGI), and sometimes the acting. The genuinely well-acted parts are very sparse however. Overall I'd say this is a movie where you'd be better off just reading the Wikipedia summary rather than wasting your time by watching it. Very confused how this has such a high critic score, but I guess this is just a good demonstration of why sample sizes are a thing. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/02/23 Full Review Menace The movie is beautiful, makes me wanna enter this movie. Whole movie was wild, and the ending makes me wanna NUT! Y'all must watch this masterpiece. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/22 Full Review Audience Member You know those nerdy kids in school that only play video games? This is their wet dream. I have been eyeing on this movie for sometimes, and the just forgot about it. Now having watched it, I was greatly entertained. The way it started will definitely catch you off guard, similarly to other horror anime that I have watched like Wonder Egg Priority or Vivy. Of course there would be blood, but the two-third of this movie was incredibly intense and almost relentless. Our main character constantly ran around and witnessed horrible things. If you love violent movies like me, you are in a good treat. There were plenty of blood, violence, and death. However, you have to accept the obviously cheap and fake effects. They definitely didn't have budget for this many deaths. Interestingly, the blood was not entirely for violence's sake, and it actually had some significance toward the real world. The last third revealed what was going on, and the movie slowed down significantly. I think that the movie aimed at too many themes and hindered the experience a bit. Overall, a fun, ridiculous, and entertaining Japanese movie. 7.5/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Another film where I want to look at the critics eyes and say; are you some pretentious boob who has to mark up and say how great it is, even though it's a pile of garbage, so that your peers think you know what you're talking about and be accepted within the clique. I then think, am I in a parallel universe too. Yes there's subject matter such as feminism, LGBT etc, here there and everywhere. Although personally, I wish this film was hidden from me. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Bizarre, incomprehensible twaddle with bad CGI. A waste of time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
