Chase Whale Film.com Take This Waltz is a Remarkable, Offbeat Love Story Aug 29, 2013 Full Review Kimberley Jones Austin Chronicle Polley is a subtle filmmaker, and a surprising one, too. Rated: 4/5 Aug 17, 2012 Full Review Sophie Ivan Little White Lies Committed and resonant, Take This Waltz gets under your skin - and feels a lot like the work of an auteur in the making. Rated: 4/5 Aug 16, 2012 Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson "Take This Waltz" isn't all about probing insecurities or lusting over the hot neighbor across the street. It's about what connections people choose to see through. Rated: 4/5 Sep 4, 2023 Full Review Jim Ross TAKE ONE Magazine Sarah Polley holds it together with a sure sense of the film's tone and outlook and is helped along by an endearing performance from Michelle Williams. Feb 13, 2020 Full Review Kristy Strouse In Their Own League It's the humanistic and harsh reality that settles into the bones of Take This Waltz that makes it memorable. When I first saw it I wasn't sure how to feel, I just knew that I did. Feb 6, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Steve M God awful trite garbage. It's like a millionaire gave his bratty son and daughter a blank check to make a film so they hired famous people, wrote a script with high school friends, jammed in some famous folk in full frontal nudity, let an art student write and direct every other scene, and then somehow expect us to be entertained or shocked or feel romantic or confused. WTF? This is a total fail on so many levels to the average person. Thanks for your participation. Where's my trophy, lol,!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/09/24 Full Review Fernando M. V Excelente, conmovedora. La historia tantas veces vista de una ruptura, vida tranquila y amorosa vs. atracción sexual. Y sus consecuencias. Honesta, sensible y delicada. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review ben b Great movie. Loved the performances and Polley's direction. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Marjo V Excellent acting and directing. I was hesitating to see the film, because I taught this story has been told already so many times. However, this film really touched my heart. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/22 Full Review Audience Member A bath of warm colors and beautiful spaces. The characters don't quite live up to the same standard as the set dressing, but the story eventually got under my skin. It's a cautionary "the grass isn't always greener" tale in a lot of ways that doesn't paint any of its characters as enemies or heroes and doesn't shy away from making them live with their mistakes. Take this Waltz has moments that are abruptly sexual and at the risk of sounding like a prude, are very awkwardly out of step with the rest of the movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant, authentic, interesting, makes you think. Deep and soulful. Fun and sexy. Love Sarah Polley.
