Taken in Plain Sight certainly has the audience rooting for Abby and the safe return of her daughter Zooey, but little of this feels real. And given the serious nature of the subject—an abduction of a child—this is pretty tension-free.

I got frustrated with her constant deep sighs, heavy mouth breathing, and gasps. I lost count after 30. Yes, I actually counted. The parts I do catch it didn’t feel real.

Lordy, where to start?? Did you ever sit and watch a movie for the entire duration of the movie waiting for it to start? Well, that’s what you have with taken in plain sight. The acting writing and directing our all equally abominable. Not sure if the actors in this movie ever considered taking acting lessons, but they are sorely needed across the board. The writing is horrendous and the directing is pedantic. Don’t waste your time on this movie. There’s plenty of other things on Netflix to watch. I am absolutely flummoxed as to how this movie ever made it to the Netflix platform.

So, so bad. I like a poorly acted Lifetime movie on occasion, but this one is worse than normal. This one keeps ending up on top ten watched movies so I had higher expectations. The bad acting, the horrible decision making of the lead (girl, if you follow someone into the middle of nowhere and park in the yard by their house behind a tree, in reality they’re gonna see you), and the ridiculous overacting of the kids- it’s just bad. Save yourself some time, and don’t watch.
