Katie Rife AV Club It won't win any awards for subtlety, but if you're a fan of the original, you already know that. Rated: C Jul 24, 2018 Full Review Sol Harris Starburst As a straight-to-on-demand follow-up to a film from 23 years ago, Tales from the Hood 2 is so, so much better than it has any right to be. Rated: 3/5 Nov 16, 2020 Full Review Mark H. Harris Black Horror Movies It's all very unsubtle yet compelling food for thought that manages to craft some decent genre thrills. Rated: 3/5 Jan 7, 2020 Full Review Mike Vanderbilt Daily Grindhouse ...fun, funny, thought provoking, and at times wonderfully weird. Tales From The Hood 2</I is indeed, the shit. Jun 8, 2019 Full Review Korey Coleman Double Toasted It's tales from a Corporate Science Lab... It makes no sense. Adam T Keith David deserved better man, the whole Emmett Till reenactment story still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Other than that? The rest of the stories were a bit meh and it's set in a government science lab (???) Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/24 Full Review Harkonnen Hard to watch... This film takes a stab at exploiting the theme of race relations and fails miserably. The result is a mess of painful weirdness that I wish I'd never seen. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/12/23 Full Review Regina P This is not as good as the first one, sorry. I knew how it would end. The stories were too out there. It wasn't creepy and unsettling like the first one. It was just over-the-top with a lack of creativity in how to get the point across without stating it plainly. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/30/23 Full Review andrew k Solidly within the direct-to-video category, but still very good. It's definitely a different style from the original, but the intention of the stories is there. Especially the last one. Keith David as Simms is also a brilliant move. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It’s hardly the classic that the original is, and it has all the subtlety of a cartoon mallet, but I just can’t fully dislike the movie. Keith David is so damn giddy and entertaining that it makes even the weakest (and sometimes tone-deaf) moments worth enduring.
