Jodi (Ava Michelle) has always been the tallest girl in school -- and she's always been uncomfortable with it. After slouching her way through life for 16 years and being made fun of by classmates, Jodi meets Stig (Luke Eisner), a seemingly perfect Swedish foreign exchange student who's even taller than she is. Jodi's new crush turns her world upside down and throws her into a surprising love triangle, but with the help of her two best friends (Griffin Gluck, Anjelika Washington) as well as her beauty queen sister Harper (Sabrina Carpenter), Jodi comes to realize that she's far more than her insecurities about her appearance have led her to believe. TALL GIRL, director Nzingha Stewart's first feature film, is a heartfelt and hilarious coming-of-age story about finding the confidence to stop slouching and stand tall.

Critics Consensus

While charming at times, Tall Girl is mostly an uninspired teen comedy that fails to bring anything new to the genre.

Jack t Welcome to my review, I just fisted two collage w***es. Yeah, I know it's a bit of a cliché to rant on something that's bothering you over and dover again but at least the people have vivid imaginations forgetting what I've said in my reviews but sometimes they don't. Tall Girl will be the example if not the most chick flick that defines the god-awfulness made by Netflix itself but there is a sequel to this movie which reminds me at going to review it later on after this one and just like I did The Kissing Booth trilogy, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser and He's All That all made crap by Netflix for not getting tired of making chick flicks taken place at some high school or collage even if the studio itself doesn't know how to make a good chick flick film. All right, let's just cut to the dog's d**k and get on with it. Jodi Kreyman is a tall student since she was three, which has made her insecure her whole life. Many students pick on her for her height. Her friends, her sister, Harper has won multiple beauty pageants. Jack Dunkleman, a life-long friend, frequently asks her out, but she is reluctant, partly because he is much shorter than she is. A Swedish foreign student, Stig Mohlin, joins Jodi's class, and she is immediately interested in him, along with most girls in the school. However, her bully Kimmy Stitcher, starts showing him around. Dunkleman is distressed to learn that Stig will be staying at his house as the host family. And the rest goes on but nothings happening most of the time. No, seriously, nothing happens throughout the entire film, even though we do have a b***h a**e bully who doesn't like Jodi and all that stuff but everything about that character is been done to death, like for instance, Bratz, although not made by Netflix but still, with Meredith is a ***t, He's All That, with Alden Pierce is a bigger ***t, this one however does the exact same thing. That character can later be expand upon in the sequel. As I stated now that not much happens apart from the ending homecoming speech but that's about it, is nothing more than a boring coming of age chick flick with new to offer. I've been getting into this movie thinking if it's good or bad, for the first I've seen it, I nearly found it to be garbage, the second time watching however, that's all the satisfaction I need from it. So with that being said, this movie and it can go f**k itself and I can't wait to do the sequel because this is gonna make me feel good so fasten your seatbelts and hold on to your butts. ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐ Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Vincent G I struggled to find any redeeming qualities in this film, except for the main actor’s earnest attempt to bring the script to life. Unfortunately, the soundtrack was dull, the script lacked engagement, and the acting came across as immature. 0,5/5 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/24/24 Full Review Jereme O the writer brings it to life and shows the understanding of how the world looks through bullying. Its a great moment when you need to rise up and stand for your self and others Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/26/24 Full Review Tatum M Not worth your time… this movie is cringy and also don’t get me started on the weird kiss in the escape room that scene made me want to hide in the covers. You should just watch High School Musical or Descendants instead if your looking for a movie to watch with your tween. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/26/24 Full Review Prosperity M It was not that captivating and it told a narrative that has been heard before so was very typical Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/12/24 Full Review B M 6'1 is not that tall Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews
