In this Disney animated tale, the orphaned Tarzan (Tony Goldwyn) grows up in the remote African wilderness, raised by the gentle gorilla Kala (Glenn Close). Besides it being nostalgic for me, I just love a good tear jerking film. Like it's obviously got some sad parts but the story makes up for it. One family's loss is another family's gain. I can't imagine how that feels but I can definitely empathize with the characters. I also appreciate how Jane's father can also clearly see his daughter fell in love with a jungle man. It's almost like a cartoon version of George of the Jungle. I'd recommend this film to anyone.

This movie is so much better than I remember. Spectacular and moving soundtrack, lovable characters and a perfect balance of emotional and humorous moments. I also love how this movie doesn't feel too heavy and doesn't have a complicated plot, it's such a simple yet engaging movie from start to finish.

For coming at a time when so many Disney films ended up feeling lackluster, Tarzan is somewhat of a hidden gem. While there are faults, the drama and emotion of the film do hit rather effectively with both memorable visuals and weight.
