John Beifuss Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) An ironic title for a story about an anti-social hero, 'Team Picture' perfectly captures a young man at a moment of almost pure indecision. If Hollywood makes action movies, this is an inaction movie: a film about deferring rather than engaging with life. Rated: 3.5/4 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Recently revisited this movie after some 6 years. It is difficult to pinpoint exactly why, but Audley's film is quietly potent. Turning away from the conventional mode, his film presents a surprisingly realistic portrait of a young man who has yet to find any form of direction or grounding force in life. All the more uncomfortable is the ambiguous manner in which we see the main character interact with those in his life. This an uncomfortable character study of a man who either simply doesn't care or who might actually care too much. It is never quite clear. And, the power in the film is in the possible realization that while he might be able to pose for group photograph -- it seems to impossible for him to really fit into it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member My second attempt at watching a mumblecore movie all the way through, and it came painfully close to becoming my second failure. Which tells you that it's better than Hannah Takes the Stairs, but that's not saying much. Flat characters, mediocre acting (At best. The breakup scene in the beginning made me want to break my screen), but once the romance picked up (more than halfway through the movie, far too late to establish a plot) it managed to redeem itself. A little. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member If you are in your mid-20s or so, you know characters like the lead guy. Perhaps you are the protagonist yourself. This film embodies that ambiguous, tumultuous void that post-college springs on us, while countering it with a subtle message of hope. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Weirdest flick ever, decent story but mediocre acting. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/01/08 Full Review Audience Member Funny and singular. I found Dave alternately infuriating and likable, his roommate both comic and sad. They have a Maverick-Goose thing going. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member i really enjoyed the lethargic pace/characters/themes. it's not empty, but full of emptiness and i love that. really explores the feeling of really not knowing what to do with yourself, sometimes finding something that matters to you, but most of the time (lazily) resisting what society sees as "successful". long story short, i love how the style/acting evokes the feeling of being lost & confused.
