What to Know

Critics Consensus

Ted 2 reunites Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane for another round of sophomoric, scatological humor -- and just as before, your enjoyment will depend on your tolerance for all of the above.

Jason Bailey Flavorwire The "offensive" jokes that pop up every once in a while in 'Ted 2' aren't social satire, or good gags, or even particularly vicious - they're a gimmick, taunting, trollery. May 28, 2016 Full Review Alison Willmore BuzzFeed News Being awful is still no substitute for being funny - but Seth MacFarlane's talking teddy bear sequel does manage some laughs anyway. Nov 10, 2015 Full Review Richard Lawson Vanity Fair Ted 2 strains to be the synthesis of... what made MacFarlane famous and his deeper creative temperament, and there are moments when that tonal zigging and zagging works. But they are ultimately warring impulses. Aug 14, 2015 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Some may find the material serviceable, but Ted 2 further proves that sequels rarely ever stand up to their originals. Rated: 2/4 Jun 9, 2022 Full Review James Croot Stuff.co.nz Fans of MacFarlane's style of humour will enjoy the frequent pop-culture segues... but it also recycles far too many ideas from Family Guy. Rated: 2/5 Feb 16, 2021 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Has more very funny, very off colour jokes than most movies. Too bad they're concentrated in the first hour and not spread throughout. Rated: 2/5 Feb 3, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Professional D I like this movie a lot sad a 3 one is never gonna release Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/28/24 Full Review Audience Member Doesn't deserve 44%. Deserves 100%😭🥰 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review Todd B The review summary was spot on, sophmoric, scatalogical humor, right up my alley. Funnier jokes towards the beginning, so a reduced star rating. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Mate P Ted 2 is funny and very similar to the first movie, while it has a great message. The characters didn't evolve between the the movies and didn't have an arc throughout the movie. On the other hand all characters remained true to their original characteristics, so the writing was consistent. The jokes were very funny and the plot was interesting, I enjoyed it more than the first one's story, because I love law movies. At last but not least, the message of the movie is great and adds importance to a light-hearted comedy film. The acting was good, the directing was great, but in any other aspects, it's just mid. Ted 2 is a fun watch, with big laughs, but lacks greatness. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/27/24 Full Review Laze T The same as the first one very good Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/19/24 Full Review Will S If you want a serious story line - forget it - i see this film as a quick laugh and thats exactly what it does - it just makes you laugh which is what i was after!
