Barry Hertz Globe and Mail Lacks resonance and a steady directorial hand. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 22, 2016 Full Review Moira MacDonald Seattle Times For a movie with extremely loud punk-rock music at its core, "Ten Thousand Saints" is a pleasantly low-key experience; it's a small-scale character drama about learning to live with loss. Rated: 3/4 Aug 27, 2015 Full Review J. R. Jones Chicago Reader The film shows all the earmarks of a story too heavily compressed; the complications among the entwined families pile up after a while, and the period milieu feels arbitrary. Aug 20, 2015 Full Review Brigid Presecky FF2 Media A bit of a "paint by numbers" exercise that never manages to fully engage. Rated: 3/5 Aug 14, 2019 Full Review Pat Padua DCist There's a lot wrong with [the movie], but I forgive it because most of the actors carry the movie's awkward melodrama--and because it's a reminder of an East Village that's quickly disappearing. Aug 29, 2018 Full Review Mae Abdulbaki Punch Drunk Critics Springer Berman and Pulcini bring to the screen some realism and grunge which, along with good performances, keep the movie from dragging too much. Lawrence W No one but Ethan Hawke could bring this story to heartfelt life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/29/24 Full Review Gnr E How the director can make comedy movie with so dark giving me 2 different emotions at a same time Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Audience Member This is a pretty average movie but it has Hailee Steinfeld so the score gets a boost. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Directionless people make questionable decisions that are either directly tragic or indirectly tragic; level of casting helps making Ten Thousand Saints palatable Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Heartbreaking sad screwed up is How i Would describe this amazing dark beautiful movie. I relate to some aspects of this film in ways I won't say but long story short it moved me. Hailee Steinfeld is amazing. This is my one of my favorite performances She has given. This is a highlight of Hailee's acting career. I might be biased because Hailee is my favorite actress but she is so freaking good. The other actor's are good but Hailee is the best part of the movie by far. Their are better movie's out their but the performances are great. The movie is good enough. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Enjoyed the storyline and twists and turns it took. Ethan Hawke is the best in this movie. Could've been shorter.
