alessandro t A masterclass in directing, writing and acting. With this interpretation Renato Carpentieri won the "David di Donatello" for best leading actor in 2017. Also in the film is an incredible Elio Germano, the best living Italian actor for about 15 years. It is not a film set after the Second World War, as this site mistakenly writes, but rather in the present day, in a painful, sad, human and compassionate Naples. Renato Carpentieri is an elderly man, whose cynicism is crumbled by the appearance of his neighbors, Micaela Ramazzotti and Elio Germano, a couple from the north, with their two young children. Giovanna Mezzogiorno is a daughter who loves her father beyond all his mistakes. Greta Scacchi is a disappointed woman, but one who still loves.
