Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard The film, made in 1968, was provocative then and remains so now. But it doesn't elucidate its ambivalent moral secrets easily. Rated: 4/5 Apr 12, 2013 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian It is as if Pasolini has imagined how Italy's bland, complacent, stagnant governing class could be blown wide open: like putting a hundredweight of dynamite in the San Andreas fault. Rated: 5/5 Apr 11, 2013 Full Review David Parkinson Empire Magazine Whichever of the various interpretations you ascribe to this socio-political parody, the quality is undeniable. Rated: 4/5 Apr 8, 2013 Full Review Sam Moore Vague Visages At a first glance, Teorema seems like a film that would foreground the political...but instead, Pasolini uses the ideas that surround wealthy families as a way to explore silence, sadness and the ways in which people lose touch with their identities... Jun 5, 2024 Full Review Scott Nye Battleship Pretension Pasolini frequently uses those who push themselves to the margins of society to expose our collective and individual weaknesses, and our determination to maintain the image of order. Shioka O The art direction is superb. Every footage is a complete picture. Great acting. I'm not Catholic so that I couldn't fully understand/empathise the context behind it. I know Stamp is the stranger, but I am confused because seems like there are so much protagonists at once. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/16/22 Full Review Eitan D It's kind of hard to like or dislike this film, it's filled with so much ambiguity (contributed by very scares dialogs) that i think i should sleep on it and maybe see it again in a few month. None the less the movie is well made, the story is interesting and we're identifying with the people in it when they go through hard times. I find that the whole movie is done in a very 'cold' style (i'd say resembles Le Samurai) and it's appealing to me Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/13/21 Full Review s r Some compelling ideas, but ultimately too artsy for its own good. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review william k Although told quite straightforwardly, this tale is charged with political, existential and religious implications without giving any answers; a riddle of sorts. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member In fact, The Visitor never seduces anyone. All five characters seduce him, one by one. This is a crucial difference. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Un ritratto accurato della borghesia italiana negli anni '60 con tutte le sue ipocrisie e segreti.
