Audience Member One of the few faithful renditions of Mary Shelley's novel. Very well done. That said, the novel and the film are long on talk and short on action. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member a fairly adept verision of the source material. Per Oscarsson plays the monster with a real regal abandon. The flood light locations are a marvel. As is Leon Vitali's hair - especially during the kite slying scene. Yeah, you heard me right. There is something about Swedish films that feels very "community theater." Not to imply that is bad. It is just a professional amateurishness that relies on theater makeup and expressive hand gestures to convey the subtleties of characters. Still, I was completely entertained and would recommend it to anyone looking for a real low budget, yet serious adaptation of the Frankenstein mythos. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a great old movie. The "monster" was a man who was merely scarred. It made for a very interesting twist. I liked the plot the monster used for revenge. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I remember this film as being excellent...looking to see it again if I can find it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
