What to Know

Critics Consensus

While it's nowhere near as addictive or fast-paced as the game, Tetris offers a fun, fizzy account of the story behind an 8-bit classic.

Audience Says

Even if it plays fast and loose with the true story behind the game, Tetris is tons of fun -- and Taron Egerton has never been better.

Aryan It contains TETRIS, it's the best movie of this century and instant classic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/27/23 Full Review Melanie Great acting, neat story. Would recommend! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/25/23 Full Review Dominic B Fast and inventive and really good fun! I doubt it actually happened exactly that way, but here I think it's good not to let accuracy stand in the way of a good story. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/18/25 Full Review Daphne C. We loved it! I was expecting a methodical drama for fame sand but got a quick, fun, and surprisingly thoughtful sociopolitical thriller with a lot of heart. Wonderful performances and witty script. Highly recommend it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/16/25 Full Review Romas M "Tetris" (2023) tells a true story (well mostly at least) about how rights to Tetris, one of the most popular games ever made, was acquired from its creator in USSR. I have heard a bit about this story years ago, but never thought involving. As far historic, biopic movies goes, "Tetris" is a must see. I was entertained and caught into it from the get go. Storytelling here was fantastic. At running time 2 hours this film is highly involving. And what on paper could have been a boring tale about signing some contracts, in reality was anything but boring. It involved many people from different companies, and countries. It also fascinatingly recreates the Moscow in its final USSR years - it was done so well that it looked like it was made by Russians back in the 90's. Acting was superb by everyone involved. Screenplay was never dull or boring. Overall, "Tetris" is an example of how to make an excellent film about real story which on paper shouldn't have been anything special. But it was its representation here is excellent. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/11/25 Full Review gavin r solid ten out of ten Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/29/25 Full Review Read all reviews
