Anupama Chopra The Hollywood Reporter India Occasionally rousing, mostly laboured placeholder. Oct 22, 2025 Full Review Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express ...there is so little that engages in this crowded canvas, written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Afrun Falara, that the result is a pair of hurting ears and glazed eyes. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 21, 2025 Full Review Anuj Kumar The Hindu Hamstrung by a stop-start screenplay and an undisguised effort to keep the Maddock multiverse connected, the festive fare of ‘Thamma’ lacks the emotional depth of ‘Stree’ and the bite of ‘Bhediya’ Nov 25, 2025 Full Review Surya Komal Just for Movie Freaks Thamma has scale, but the emotional beats and horror elements never land with the impact they should. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 14, 2025 Full Review Sreeju Sudhakaran LatestLY.com Thamma is packed with romance, supernatural action, horror, cameos, and franchise ambition - but it forgets the simplest rule of storytelling: make us care. Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 30, 2025 Full Review Dipankar Sarkar Upper Stall Thamma, no doubt, offers flashes of charm and spectacle, but ultimately ends up as a film that is more content to circulate within the safety of its own universe rather than push its boundaries. siddhant Good CGI. Average Movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/25/25 Full Review Arti The first half was fantastic with all the world building and the plot developing but the second half didn’t do justice to the 1st half. It felt like it was going away from the plot and yes it did well set up upcoming films in the universe, it just made the plot of Thamma kinda empty. They should have had the set up of upcoming films like Bhediya 2 be in the end of the movie after all of the plot is wrapped up. The comedy felt cheap at times and the VFX was great either. Despite being marketed as a horror movie, there was literally 0% horror. On the other hand, the soundtrack “Rahe Na Rahe Hum” is phenomenal and just adds so much to the scene and most of the cameos were handled decently. Because of all the things mentioned I would give Thamma a 3.5/5. You should watch it in the theater if you are following the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe and liked them then this is a must watch otherwise just watch it when it comes out on Amazon Prime Video in December. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/25 Full Review Roushan A Thamma was the best movie of 2025 in my personal opinion..... Because it has perfect storyline with superb songs and fabulous performance..... However some issues what I noticed was dressing sense of actressess, double meaning jokes. I think these reduced the number of child and family audiance. Unless it was better than kantara or Raid 2, because it was the only one of 2025 in which you will enjoy the entire movie, and it won't let you to move away your attention from screen. Overally movie was best but please keep the dressing, kissing scenes away from next time..... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/22/25 Full Review Ankur Kumar D Saw an exceptional side of Ayushmann Khurrana & Rashmika Mandanna !! Yes it is a very good film with a comedy and well connected and strong building of MHCU!! It is entertaining from 2nd half but comedy and very casual in 1st half ! It is a very good film !🔥looking ahead for Thamma 2 !! Raktabramha!! Satyabramha!!🔥🔥 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/05/25 Full Review Brajendra K This movie is best in maddock horror supernatural universe Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/04/25 Full Review Jithin K This is the third Aditya Sarpodtar film I've seen and the second of his from this Maddock Horror comedy universe, and all of them have been consistently average. Having a cliche trope-filled story itself is not a huge mistake, since proper vampire-like stories are not that common in India, but having such lazy writing on every front is a mistake. The central force of the movie is supposed to be the romance, which just doesn't work because of how they fast-forward it, as well as the use of stupid comedy. They really must have thought that Gen-Z likes things fast, and this love would feel like that, but it should give some emotions to the audience. Rashmika has done a good job with what she got, but I can't help but think their first choice, Samantha, might have been better. I enjoyed the cameos, but even that felt a bit forced, especially many of the dialogues. The songs were all feeling like some recycled stuff, especially the main love theme, which sounded like a portion of a huge hit from more than 20 years ago was reused here without going so far as to get a copyright. From Stree onwards, this universe used item songs in a fun way, which also didn't work the same way here. Despite all the issues it had, it had the Bollywood glam and charm that made me enjoy some parts of it. Nawazudeen's villain character was fun and all the actors are charming. So overall, it was an average experience for me. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/30/25 Full Review Read all reviews
