Thanks For Sharing showcases some fine performances but doesn't delve into its thorny premise as deeply as it should.

Audience Member It wasn’t as bad as people say. If you’re in the program there is quite bit that will resonate. It’s not an academy award winner but it’s a decent recovery flick. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/28/23 Full Review Vander A Did anyone last beyond the first 5 minutes? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/21/23 Full Review renaldo d The script was interesting, but for some reason the director decided to do something simple and with little repercussion. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Scott P Amazing cast and interesting story line. Gweneth Paltrow in lingerie doesn't hurt, either. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/08/22 Full Review Audience Member “an unforgettable cast. hits home, raw and funny. one of the best films about addiction out there!” Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/31/22 Full Review corkball I liked the leads and their character studies. They are touching (if overly dramatic), and this is the only movie I can think of where I didn't hate Tim Robbins. The movie starts out light and breezy, like a rom-com about sex addicts, but half way through starts to get dark and deal with some serious issues around addiction. It is too much all at once, and gives the movie an uneven tone. Additionally, 'sex addiction', while I get is a real issue, is a bit hard to take seriously in a Hollywood movie. Larushka Ivan-Zadeh metro.co.uk This well-acted dramedy is a ploddingly earnest look at addiction and recovery. Rated: 3/5 Sep 6, 2017 Full Review Liam Lacey Globe and Mail Thanks for Sharing might best be described as being like Steve McQueen's sex-addiction drama, Shame, if it were rewritten by Neil Simon at his most schmaltzy. Rated: 2/4 Oct 18, 2013 Full Review Peter Howell Toronto Star It's frankly exhausting to keep up with these neurotic over-sharers, who are neither serious enough to care about nor humorous enough to laugh at. Rated: 2/4 Oct 17, 2013 Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson There are fair jokes to be made, but they are matched by ugly dark flaws of character that could happen to any one of us. Rated: 3/5 Sep 4, 2023 Full Review Rita Cannon Battleship Pretension There's nothing wrong with shifting between comedy and drama, even with such serious subject matter, but as we near the end of Thanks For Sharing, the shifting gets less graceful and becomes more of a lurch. Feb 24, 2021 Full Review Carey-Ann Pawsey Orca Sound A complicated attempt at looking at relationships when they come under the big strain of sex addiction.
