Meyer Levin (Patterson Murphy) Esquire Magazine Bette Davis, she suffers, and she suffers, and she gives, and she gives. But you can't blame her for the story. The director, Edmund Colliding, wrote it himself. Apr 17, 2020 Full Review Ann Ross Maclean's Magazine It's rather an old story, but Bette Davis' high-tension performance gives it a certain vitality. Steve D A tough but worthy watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/03/24 Full Review acsdoug D I was a bit torn on this. I like Bette Davis and 1930s melodramas too. However, this one is just not all that good. The dialog is fine, the story is just too weak. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/07/23 Full Review Audience Member I always love movies with Bette Davis in it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member good rom-dram heats up chemistry between fonda and davis for next year's 'jezebel" Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member That Certain Woman starring my all time favorite Bette Davis from 1937 is a good Warner Bros film. This film teams Henry Fonda alongside Bette Davis as a couple whom face many obsticles. She has a passed with a man on the wrong side of the law and is not allowed to move on from it. Check this out film buffs!!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Standard weepie elevated by Bette and Henry. Anita Louise steals her one scene with some of the best acting she ever did. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
