Skeptical lawyer Barney Greenwald (Eric Bogosian) grudgingly defends Lt. Steve Maryk (Jeff Daniels), a navy man who wrestled control of a ship from its domineering captain, Lt. Cmdr. Philip Francis Queeg (Brad Davis), in the midst of a violent storm at sea. As the court martial progresses, Greenwald begins to wonder if the events aboard the U.S.S. Caine were truly a mutiny, or merely the brave acts of a faithful group of sailors who could no longer trust their unstable leader.

Audience Member VERDICT: CONDUCT - QUITE BECOMING! With deference to the commendable job done by this entire ensemble in delivering the sheer breadth of dialogue here so entertainingly, along with masterfully executed work, particularly of Mssr's Daniels, Bogosian, Gallagher, and Murphy (suitability morose - he was also having a banner year with cable's TANNER '88), along with director Altman and his crew, the true Court Martial should've been of Brad Davis' largely unconvincing and overtly theatrical, though at times, suitability unsettling depiction of an unraveling Captain Queeg. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/02/20 Full Review Audience Member Much better than most TV dramas. The story unfolds solely through testimony a few months after the incident. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Altman! Who knew? This is great. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
