Kelly K Superb acting from Tucci, Lithgow, Rossellini, Fiennes… Compelling storyline from start to finish. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/16/24 Full Review P H I thought it was excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/08/24 Full Review sharon g Best movie of the year. Superb acting. Surprise ending Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/26/24 Full Review Stephen M A National theatre release that wasn’t a a big budget, superhero Marvel or animated kid’s flick! How about that? Clever story. Great acting from Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci and a somewhat under utilized John Lithgow. Beautifully shot. Conclave presents a very human Catholic Church. One that is full of egos, jealousy’s, ambitions and doubts as Cardinals choose a new Pope. An engaging movie that I will see again. The ending was a pleasant surprise and no, I don’t agree that it was mocking Catholicism as I have read in other reviews. It was a thought piece about an important religion as it navigates its way forward in an always changing and sometimes hostile world. Finally Fiennes should get his Oscar. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/14/24 Full Review Rose K I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The plot entertains good honest judgement and secrecy. It all seems so prim and proper and yet sex seems to be core of a lot of the characters decision-making and consequences to follow. I’m sure there were many conversations behind closed doors with no witnesses. They’re also were probably a lot of children born that don’t know their history/who their parents are. It is unfortunate that they’re not able to marry and have families if they choose. A must see! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/09/24 Full Review Audience Member Great story line, superb acting. The only bad thing is the battle or fight scenes which are bad. In general good movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
