Manash Jyoti G This One Deserves A Special Respect An Underrated Crime Action-Comedy Which Was A Really Cool Dichotomy For Today's Generation Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/22 Full Review Audience Member I was not expecting to enjoy this movie as much as I did but The Gravy Train was an AWESOME movie!!! Why have I not heard of it until now? From beginning to end, The Gravy Train was a GREAT movie. From the shootout with the cops to the shootout in the building while it's being being demolished & everything in between Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Highly under-rated mix of caper, buddy action and the sort of loosely satirical commentary on the American success myth that is rarely depicted with such frank humor and a sense of fun. One of many great films co-scripted by Terrence Malick, this one is largely overlooked among other fine `70s fare. It sets itself squarely in the working class and Keach and Forrest have a great deal of fun with the witty dialogue regarding their characters frustrated lack of mobility and various interactions with and impersonations of authority figures. Kidder is breezy and amusing as she clearly relishes playing a mock-dumb operator using her contrasting means to play the game against the brothers. Now that Sony has debuted a dvd on demand service like that of Warner Archive, we should see some online petitions rallying them for a release. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Wow! This movie is awesome! Great offbeat blend of action and comedy, with a script co-written by Terrence Malick and featuring a fantastic cast of underutilized actors that includes Stacy Keach, Frederic Forrest, Barry Primus, Margot Kidder, and Paul Dooley. And the climactic shootout that ends the film has to be a minor classic. Never released on video, do yourself a favor and try your best to find this on TV or the internet. It won't disappoint! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie gets praised, and I don't know why. It was extremely boring to me. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This heist movie has a great opening. The Dion Brothers cant help but steal the limelight on this one. The final shoot out in a building that's being destroyed is a great touch Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

David Sterritt Christian Science Monitor Keach can be a splendid actor... but he can't salvage the raucous excesses of Gravy Train. Oct 8, 2021 Full Review Bernard Drew Gannett News Service I loved Gravy Train, even if some of the time I felt guilty about admiring a flawed movie so much. But Jack Starrett directed it with enough energy, gusto, humor and pizzazz to supply another half dozen films. Oct 29, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
