You could do worse than The Divine Weapon. Its a fictional tale about a new invented weapon, a variation of the Chinese fire arrow. Most of the movie is montages and sword fighting, with a decent battle in the end. Its moderately entertaining, and not much else.

The story of the first rocket battery and missile is exciting and explosive. Jae-yeong Jeong, star of Castaway on the Moon, Welcome to Dongmakgol, Moss and most notably, Going by the Book, shines brightly as merchant/swordsman, bitter over when the crown did to his father.
"It's easy to see why 'The Divine Weapon' proved so popular, as it contains everything needed for a successful blockbuster, combining historical intrigue, action, romance and even a touch of comedy to great effect. Unlike so many would be crowd-pleasers which actively play to the supposed common denominator, the film has a fairly involved plot, which makes good use of the political and cultural complexities of the time to weave a tale filled with deceptions and interesting twists. It is to director Kim's credit that he manages to work in the obligatory love story without ever undermining this, and although hampered slightly by its inherent inevitability, the relationship between Seol Joo and Hong Li builds in winningly playful fashion, thanks in no small part to the likable performances from the two leads."

Watched this film some time back on a flight, somewhat stuck for choice its fair to say, seeing as i picked the one in Korean over another viewing of some animated tripe that has since shrivelled from memory. This film, however, did not. It was an enjoyable and atypical shade of the typical asian fist-fest, with kung fu and honour bound soldiers abound. Unfortunately it has been some time so I am detail deprived, but as I saw that this film had no reviews and I had yet to write one, i felt obliged.
So in short - I enjoyed it, it was engaging and memorable, but I haven't much of a clue why.. Great first review.

This is a Korean film. I think this movie is loosely based on historical events. It is very well done but a little 'drawn out' as with other oriental epics. It is divided up with lots of action and the cinematography is great. I enjoyed this movie.
