Sean C Sep 20 A superb gothic style movie with lots of scares. Films without computer graphic effects need to be recognised for the make up and effects teams. Seen this back in the days of the video nasty and uncut. The version out now says uncut but it is cut , at least 50 sec but still great. See more Melissa L Jul 30 I don't understand the high ratings. The camera work with the long close up shots that really give you that creepy unnerving scare, and the long foreboding shots give an amazing charm. The ending has one of the best twists I've seen. Stephen King would love this. See more Raiodesol S 10/31/2024 While the first act of the movie is slow and difficult to get through, the mystery and overall Halloweeny feel of the movie really makes you push through, and it pays off. Yeah, actors aren’t as good as they could be, and story could a lot simpler to better facilitate understanding it, but it works in the end. The scare build ups hold up to this date, the makeup is amazing, soundtrack is on point (although some repeating sound effects are very annoying) and the build up is basically what drives this movie, with a great and unexpected-ish twist at the end. Even if I don’t get the title of the movie, I think it’s worth a watch especially during the spooky season. The visuals, sound effects, and score create a sense of dread I've not seen in many other movies. A real creeper! Pretty gory but it's that cartoonish giallo gore. See more Read all reviews
