Alan Jones Starburst This is Fulci at his most restrained and therefore most effective. Jul 28, 2022 Full Review Ed Travis Hollywood Jesus I had a blast with this horror classic even if it is highly evocative of other isolated scary house movies. Apr 1, 2020 Full Review James Kendrick Q Network Film Desk the violence inflicted on the various characters throughout the film (which includes gouging, stabbing, throat ripping, dismemberment, and decapitation) is nothing compared to the violence that Fulci inflicts on storytelling and logic Rated: 1.5/4 Feb 11, 2020 Full Review Rob Hunter Film School Rejects Rated: C+ May 19, 2012 Full Review Fernando F. Melissa L I don't understand the high ratings. The film was weird, and had too much blood and gore. Don't waste your time! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Damian M This movie is a must see and a classic! The camera work with the long close up shots that really give you that creepy unnerving scare, and the long foreboding shots give an amazing charm. The ending has one of the best twists I've seen. Stephen King would love this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/23/24 Full Review Raiodesol S While the first act of the movie is slow and difficult to get through, the mystery and overall Halloweeny feel of the movie really makes you push through, and it pays off. Yeah, actors aren’t as good as they could be, and story could a lot simpler to better facilitate understanding it, but it works in the end. The scare build ups hold up to this date, the makeup is amazing, soundtrack is on point (although some repeating sound effects are very annoying) and the build up is basically what drives this movie, with a great and unexpected-ish twist at the end. Even if I don’t get the title of the movie, I think it’s worth a watch especially during the spooky season. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/31/24 Full Review Tasos L What can I say about this masterpiece...I have watched it a hundred times and it's always giving me the creeps..! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/07/24 Full Review Chris O This is my favorite Italian horror movie. The plot doesn't make much sense. It's best to think of it as mystical realism. The visuals, sound effects, and score create a sense of dread I've not seen in many other movies. A real creeper! Pretty gory but it's that cartoonish giallo gore. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/13/24 Full Review B Rad The House By The Cemetery is a movie I want to love but it is so very flawed. terrible acting, terrible voice dubbing for "Bob". Gore is pretty good but the whole movie just falls short for me Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews
