Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member "Cecil Kellaway received a Supporting Actor nomination for playing a leprechaun in this whimsical fantasy-comedy, starring Tyrone Power." Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I offered you gold. It is not my fault you prefer pebbles. A newspaper writer finds himself stranded on coastal Ireland after an unfortunate automobile mishap. While staying at a local inn he meets a remarkable woman. He decides to wander through the forest to gather his thoughts and bumps into a leprechaun. He decides to forgo the gold he would have been rewarded and instead finds himself owed by the leprechaun. The leprechaun goes out of his way to pay back the newspaper reporter which may take the reporter's life in an unforeseen direction. "He forgot to spit on the gold." Henry Koster, director of The Singing Nun, The Story of Ruth, Desiree, The Virgin Queen, Harvey, The Robe, Inspector General, and It Started with Eve, delivers Luck of the Irish. The storyline for this picture is interesting and unpredictable. The settings are clever and the script is well written and delivered. The cast delivers solid performances and includes Tyrone Power, Anne Baxter, Cecil Kellaway, Lee Cobb, Jayne Meadows, and Norman Leavitt. "You put your finger on the hole in my argument." "I could have put my foot through it." Tyrone Power is an actor that grabbed our attention with Black Swan. I had to research Power's work and this film's plot peaked my interest. This was an interesting film that was funny and entertaining to follow. The leprechaun premise was interesting and worthwhile and the love story was well executed. I do recommend catching this film if you can find it. "Aren't you a bit large for a leprechaun?" Grade: B Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Charming little trifle. Ty is well cast, Anne Baxter charming and Jayne Meadows is effective, chic but not yet the lacquered phony she eventually evolved into too. However the picture is stolen by Cecil Kellaway when ever he appears with that irrestible twinkle in his eye. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
