Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member enjoyable animated story to watch with the family about the life & resurrection of Jesus around the time of him coming to Jerusalem for Psalm Sunday Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This is the best gospel movie of the 2000s. It's meticulously detailed sets and beautiful animation are brought to life by an incredible list of A list UK actors. This is one of the most moving and articulate presentations of the spiritual, personal and political message of Jesus through any medium Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member So heartfelt:) Great for little ones. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The date is incorrect - this was made in 2000 by BBC Wales. This is one of my favourite versions of the Greatest Story Ever Told on film. Ralph Fiennes plays Jesus excellently. The story is told faithfully, Jesus's stories, miracles, and of course the Resurrection. The Russian puppetwork is beautiful, almost lifelike for stop-motion. The Welsh animations are pretty good, too. The companies that made this film also made a series of some of the more well-known parts of the Old Testament, too. That series is called "Testament: The Bible in Animation", which is also pretty good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Steven D. Greydanus Decent Films Quite simply one of the most genuinely profound and noteworthy depictions of the gospel story of all time, in any medium. Rated: A+ May 8, 2002 Full Review Antonia Quirke Independent on Sunday It's a powerfully engaging film, one that correctly sees the gospels as spiritual autobiography, and Jesus's skill with parables as an art both fundamental and devastating.
