Audience Member Thought this would be a Toetag version of a slasher film with a psycho Ex boyfriend. What a pleasant surprise. Only seen August Underground trilogy before. This one had a cool cast and story. Surprise with supernatural twist. Awesome flick. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Pittsburgh-based Toe Tag Pictures' first non-August Underground film, The Redsin Tower represents a move in the right direction for the studio. While the August Underground films remain some of the most shocking films ever made, there was little beneath their gore-soaked exploitation surface. The Redsin Tower could not be considered stylish by any means, but Fred Vogel and Toe Tag manage to create a film with an actual narrative that is alternately funny, brutal, and still shocking. Featuring Toe Tag staples like loads of drugs, nudity, and unexpected moments of brutality and grossness, The Redsin Tower still features the familiar Toe Tag trappings, but it represents the studio's evolution into more complex realms of cinematic expression--although complex is still probably being a bit liberal...... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member The ending was a let down.....wonder why they went that route. I would have killed them ALL off!!! :) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Horrofying movie with Vogel's gory effects ;). Liked it even if the story wasn't to good. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Bleak, down and dirty "Evil Dead"-a-like set in the titular tower where some foolish yoof go to party, despite the obligatory legends of murder, possession and madness. Definitely a narrative jump from Vogel's lauded, but "tough", found-footage "August Underground" gorefests, this has a plot, atmosphere and scares. It's also delightfully random and refuses to explain itself (what the HELL is that thing on the ceiling?!) while the gore, though less frequent than you might expect, if both vivid and impressive. Here's hoping that Vogel keeps getting exponentially better with practice... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I am a huge fan of Vogel. He puts independent horror on the map. This movie, however just didn't feel right. There is an interesting enough story of the tower itself, which is doing some killing, but we also have an ex-boyfriend doing some slicing and dicing, and the switches between the two terrors each undermine each other, and doesn't gel well together. The gore is very well done and of course the nudity is top notch. The acting is competent and the abandon of the tower makes for a great setting...but the two separate evils just clashed. I give Vogel credit though, there is a lot of passion in this story. I just feel it would have done better with only one evil. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
