See more 12/18/2011 Inspirational true story See more 09/06/2008 Brilliant movie about a teacher in 1969, who takes a job on Yamacraw island, in the south states of USA. The teacher is Caucasian, as is the school board director. The principal of the school is an African-American older woman, who seems to hate and loathe the African-American children. She beats them,and calls them lazy,and is very opposed to this new teachers methods..
