Audience Member Have to wonder of Robert Rodriguez saw this movie because there are moments in The Wrath of God that reminded me of some of his films. Highly recommended for cinephiles as this is Rita Hayworth's last movie. It's been reported she was already displaying signs of Alzheimer's. Despite this, her screen presence was still undeniable. And, then there's Robert Mitchum. I'm of the opinion that any movie with Mitchum is worth a watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review ashley h The Wrath of God is a decent film. It is about several foreigners held by a South American military group are offered possible freedom if they accept to topple a local crazed military leader in the 1920s. Robert Mitchum and Frank Langella give good performances. The screenplay is alright but seems a little in places. Ralph Nelson did an okay job directing this movie. I liked this movie but not one of my favorites. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member As terrible and great as a cheapie seventies Western can be. Victor Buono (yay!), Robert Mitchum (phoning it in and still entertaining as a gun-toting priest), and a guy who was in the original "Straw Dogs" and "Ladyhawke" play a ragtag bunch (is there any other kind?) of guys hired by the guy who played Mikos Cassadine on "General Hospital" to assassinate an outlaw played by a young Frank Langella, all nostrils, sex appeal, and scenery chewing. Rita Hayworth plays his mother, and if you believe Langella's dishy recent memoir, she was already in the early stages of Alzheimer's (as yet undiagnosed), and was ridiculed and somewhat loathed by the cast and crew for being unable to remember her lines. Langella comforted her nightly, with booze and sex. Actually, read his book and skip this movie. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member rita hayworth's last movie Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member My father was beat to death and defecated on while my mother was forced to watch An Irish-American moves to Mexico during the prohibition era in the United States. While in Mexico he encounters a unique priest that faintly believes in the path of god and strongly believes in the path of the righteous. When they see a mute girl being unjustly treated, they save her by killing several local banditos. They quickly become the target of a local mob that wishes for nothing more than their deaths. The priest, the Irish-American, and the mute girl begin a life on the run. "If god wanted to give the world an enema, he'd stick the nozzle in here." Ralph Nelson, director of Father Goose, Once a Thief, Lilies of the Field, Requiem for a Heavyweight, Blood Money, and Embryo, delivers Wrath of God. The storyline for this picture is fairly interesting and the brand of comedy, action, and character development depicted throughout this picture is unique. The acting is very good and the cast includes Robert Mitchum, Frank Langella, Rita Hayworth, and Victor Buono. "One missing and one drunk. Swell." The Wrath of God grabbed my attention while flicking through the channels primarily due its title. This movie was interesting and unique to the western genre. The content was fascinating but rather slow at times and the action was more scarce than I anticipated. Overall, this is worth viewing once but may not be worth adding to your DVD collection.
