Adam Graham Detroit News A flat horror thriller that takes way too long to get to its (severely lacking) horror or thrills, "The 6th Friend" is dead on arrival. Rated: D Jan 11, 2019 Full Review EJ Moreno Flickering Myth My biggest tip for enjoying this slasher film: turn it into a drinking game and take a shot every time you predict what's going to happen. You might be wasted by the time the movie is over, but you'll enjoy The 6th Friend that much more. Rated: 2/5 Feb 21, 2019 Full Review Alex Saveliev Film Threat The 6th Friend's cardinal sin is that it's just not frightening. Rated: 4/10 Feb 8, 2019 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files A surprisingly strong horror thriller that easily kept my interest right up until its lackluster and predictable final act. Rated: 4/10 Jan 25, 2019 Full Review James Perkins Starburst With a strong central performance and good special effects, The 6th Friend is just another addition to the growing catalogue of slasher films that is entirely watchable but adds nothing to this popular subgenre. Rated: 6/10 Jan 25, 2019 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation A horror picture that can't quite find the laughs it goes for, and never, for more than a more or two, provides frights. Audience Member The acting skills of a porn film. Took too long for any action, and I lost count how many times I rolled my eyes. Typical stupid victims that would lay screaming when a zippo lighter is thrown long distance without the flame blowing out, then lay still, screaming as they light on fire. Terrible Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I know Slasher movies nowadays aren't necessarily the scariest they have been, but this movie kept me railed in until the predictable ending. The acting wasn't the worst I seen, but I felt the acting was good enough to the point where people would not complain about the acting. The storyline is believable to an extent, but the movie never feels boring. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member What saves this movie from being passable is how interwoven one of the twists are (relating to a certain character and their habit). Jamie easily outshines. And while the script could've used more refining and a few characters could've been fleshed out more than they were, The 6th Friend is worth a watch.
