When it begins toying with sci-fi tropes and possibilities, it becomes both aesthetically and narratively malformed and feels lost in a liminal space between acerbic gallows humor and existential genre fiction without fully leaning into either one. Go to Full Review

Reeder’s pitch-black sense of humor instead places this twisted slice of sci-fi horror closer to Tales from the Crypt for its almost whimsical sense of macabre justice. Go to Full Review

A quick and dirty sci-fi horror flick, The A-Frame’s tone can be a little shaky, but its concept and overall execution are compelling. Go to Full Review

Reeder's film isn't about the science. It's about the journey Donna takes to accept her fate. That we learn this lesson via pretty gnarly genre gore is the cherry on top. Go to Full Review

Whether or not the theories add up, Reed has paid enough attention to detail for us to feel like we’re being treated like intelligent viewers. Go to Full Review

While there’s the lingering sense that there’s a more consistent nightmare of a film just out of reach, Reeder and his cast and crew accomplish quite a bit with their modest resources, and the film stands as a spirited entry in the tradition it occupies. Go to Full Review

G B Sep 18 If it was a Youtube short, or a student movie, I'd give it 3 stars. As it is, it's a mediocre effort with decent camera work, decent acting, decent lighting and set design. The story is too basic for 2024, the practical effects work until (spoiler alert) somebody is left screaming without lungs to actually scream. It feels like it's building up to something but ends up going nowhere in a traditional FAFO theme. Kudos to the cast and crew, it wasn't them that let this down. See more Mad M Sep 3 What the hell did I just watch ? 🤣🤣🤣 Ok so it’s a modern day take on the movie ‘the fly’ with the guy out of CSI in it? Kurt Russell esq. wanna be - not actually a bad actor in this to be honest - It’s certainly not Jeff Goldblum. The big Shame about this movie is it could have been well written. It could have been a 7/8-10. Instead what you get is pointless 4/5-10. So let me break the movie down for you. Young girl has cancer of the hand (is this even possible ?) 🤣🤣🤣 She gets stalked by a scientist …. Our protagonist - Kurt Russel wanna be … he’s called Sam. He’s a quantum physicist or so he claims to be…. But he’s actually a mad stalker scientist - it turns out. He puts the young girls hand in a machine that looks all sci fi futuristic. It ‘cures’ her cancer - temporarily. Then she tells her mate an Indian fella who’s a shite amateur comedian. He then has to walk through a larger version of the hand girls machine and he comes out on the other A frame or ‘tele-porter’ as red plasma, goo and blood and all that’s left is a mutated creature whining. Then the hand girl / the young girl feels guilty and meantime the scientist psycho Kurt Russell wanna be protagonist, talks the young hand girls mate (her mate is a coloured Africa American woman who leads a charity cancer group) to try the A frame. But they trick the scientist and push him in the machine. He then comes out as goo, plasma and blood. The end. Pointless waste of everyone’s time - no writing / no story no resistance from the mad scientist, No explanations as to why where or how. The end. Pointlessness on a large scale. The fly shot in the 80’s with Jeff Goldblum 7/8-10 A frame 4/10 And that’s being generous. Welcome to pointless movie year 2024. Do you want me to write you a good movie ? Email me and I will write you anything that is better than this and I don’t claim to be a movie writer I have just watched a lot of movies 🤣🤣🤣and anyone with one brain cell could top this tripe. Not worth your time or effort to watch and such a disappointment! See more Metehan Ç @Han12737373 Aug 31 Terrible storytelling and terrible cgi effect specially amalgams ( mutation in the cover of the film more accurate). Its looks like youtube short horror movie See more Anthony M Aug 25 An effective little horror movie. It's just that nothing physical being can scream without vocal chords. Overlook that and you're fine. See more prawnda s Aug 24 low budget drivel. there's no development, no meaning, barely anything happens, just the same experiment going very badly the same exact way multiple times. save yourself the time and watch the fly instead, because this is an incredibly cheap ripoff of it. See more Diet Dr. Paul . Aug 11 A solid concept and that falls apart for one main reason, it feels unfinished. Like asking a poignant question without sticking around to hear the answer—I was genuinely shocked when it ended. The setup is unique and the couple body horror scenes we get are awesome but it definitely feels incomplete. See more Read all reviews
