Jose Solís Common Sense Media For the rest of us, The Abyss plays very much like a by-the-numbers disaster film in which a select few are chosen to be the characters we care about the most as the world around them is literally swallowed by the ground. Mar 13, 2024 Full Review John O'Brien Inverse For those who prefer their disaster flicks without so much bombast, then this abyss is worth peeking into. Feb 21, 2024 Full Review John Serba Decider The application of a little verisimilitude helps a disaster flick like The Abyss go down a little bit easier. Feb 20, 2024 Full Review Lori Meek Ready Steady Cut It’s got an interesting premise, a great cast, and outstanding special effects. However, the plot is predictable, and whatever spark it had in the beginning turns into a snooze fest of a final act. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 16, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Eric D Writing was extremely basic as was the acting. Seems like a girl power movie, which I tend to enjoy but I just couldn't get into this one at all. Not for me. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/25/25 Full Review Richard H Seen it all before. Wooden acting. Managed to watch till the end. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/23/25 Full Review Daniel J Predictable, cliche, and flat. I almost couldn't bring myself to finish it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/11/25 Full Review Monica L One of the worst-made films I have ever seen. The plot could have been decent, but the scenes are ridiculously improbable and poorly executed. A mishmash of losers who seem to find problems instead of solutions. An interpretation teetering between dramatic and ridiculous. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/27/25 Full Review Stephen F pure shite .complete waste of time . Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Yusef D Shitty acting, too much drama, and totally a waste of time. I thought it was the other movie which is also called The Abyss.
