Richard B Really straight forward, classic, 3 act storytelling. Blake noted in a few interviews loving master filmmakers like De Palma, Hitchcock, even Tarantino to some extent, and the key to that type of format is a slow burning narrative with big and small set ups and pay offs throughout the film. The Actor, though made on a shoestring budget, manages to pull that off while infusing the energetic and familiar rock of the American Band Collective Soul. My family and I also learned later that the filmmaker made his first student film at age 15 and edited it to the music of Collective Soul, vowing to do it for real one day with the band. That was in 1999, so bravo. It's always great to hear the story behind the story. All the sudden this Texas family are killers? Great soundtrack tho! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Mark G A really fun movie with a great vibe with the music of the journey of an actor put into a series of ethical choices. Can't wait for the next movie from Richard Blake! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review MJ S Nicely crafted and engaging plot. The Actor excels in prompting viewers to ponder their actions in comparable scenarios. The antagonists in the movie instill fear and are skillfully portrayed. This film covers various elements such as humor, drama, a touch of gore, and classic moral quandaries. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Linda B A wonderful soundtrack of classic rock that takes you on a ride with twists and turns as well as some comic relief. The cast was incredibly talented, especially the lead role! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review Read all reviews
