Abandoned by his parents and raised by an aunt and uncle, teenager Peter Parker, AKA Spider-Man, is trying to sort out who he is and exactly what his feelings are for his first crush, Gwen Stacy. There are some obvious flaws in Webb's vision of Spider-Man. The plot conveniences are a headache, Connors is a shell of his true self, and it proves origin stories aren't always necessary. But the highlights bring a comic book issue to life.
