Rhys Ifans
Born in Wales in 1967, Rhys Ifans was drawn to performing at an early age, attending youth acting schools as well as the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Ifans first taste of professional performing came in the early 1990's when he was part of the band Super Furry Animals, who toured Europe and were part of the Welsh music renaissance that included Manic Street Preachers and Stereophonic among others. His first on screen acting role came on the children's TV show "Spatz" (ITV, 1990-92), but his breakout role came in the film "Twin Town" (1997), playing opposite his younger brother Llyr Ifans in a story of down on their luck brothers who try to squeeze a local bar owner for compensation after their father breaks his arm working for the man. After the success, Ifans abandoned his music to focus on acting, and gained international recognition for his scene stealing supporting role in "Notting Hill" (1999) with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. Ifans continued to play quirky supporting characters, mainly in films such as "The Shipping News" (2001), "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" (2010), and "The Amazing Spider-Man" (2012) where he played the antagonist of the film, Dr. Curt Connors, also known as The Lizard. Ifans also found success on the small screen, playing Mycroft Holmes, a recurring role on the Sherlock Holmes series "Elementary" (CBS, 2012-), as well as a series regular role on the spy drama "Berlin Station" (Epix, 2016-).
