Ryan Larson Ghastly Grinning Director McG and writer Brian Duffield deserve a lot of credit for The Babysitter, it isn't groundbreaking but it's a damn fun film that has just enough laughs and just enough gore to keep everyone interested. Jun 24, 2020 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Me gusta el cine Despite failing to deliver on everything promised during its first twenty minutes, it should satisfy fans of the genre. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 17, 2020 Full Review Peter Gray The AU Review Doesn't break the rules we've come to abide in the genre, if anything it follows them to a tee, but it's delight in being supremely distasteful earns the film a charm that's sorely been missed. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 15, 2020 Full Review James Gates Cultured Vultures Filling a movie with horror archetypes (narcissistic cheerleader, psychotic jock, sassy comedic foil) isn't necessarily a bad thing, but this is a movie that at times feels woefully archaic. Oct 23, 2019 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Combustible Celluloid Essentially a chase movie, but zippy, sexy, darkly funny, and constantly creative, with a fluid sense of space and movement, as well as lots of blood. Rated: 3/4 Aug 23, 2019 Full Review John Tones Espinof Perhaps a script that could have taken better advantage of the idea and the supernatural element would have helped us to forgive their mistakes. Juliano A Boring, gross, unfunny... i heard it was supposed to have comedy in it. I didn't like the story nor the characters, nor the things the characters say. it's really uncomfortable to watch and not enjoyable at all. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/29/24 Full Review Romeu C Can’t recommend at all. I’ve just lost time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/20/24 Full Review Omari S Despite the movie being a classic lovable character has a murderous secret movie, this film has its own charm that makes it different from other slashers. Its teen protagonist keeps the movie funny and a certain niche of horror that caters towards teens. Even with the raunchy humor and all this movie is hilarious at times and keeps you on edge. The ending was just incredible too, only adding onto how fantastic this movie is. I will die by this movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review George J I had no expectations when I started this movie and I was pleasantly surprised, Different concept from other same genera movies but it worked. Second one was just as good Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/14/24 Full Review SkyRo P "The Babysitter," featuring Bella Thorne and an ensemble cast, falls short in terms of its writing, direction, and editing. The movie gives off a sense of being hastily put together, resulting in a rushed and disjointed narrative that feels inappropriate and lacking in substance. The film teeters on the edge of being nonsensical and fails to live up to the expectations it initially sets up, leaving behind numerous plot holes and unfulfilled promises. Overall, it comes across as poorly executed and fails to engage or entertain viewers effectively. Given these shortcomings, I personally did not find "The Babysitter" to be a worthwhile watch and cannot recommend it to others. The film's flaws in its storytelling and overall execution make it a disappointing viewing experience that ultimately falls short of delivering a compelling narrative.
