Audience Member It has to be one of the most long awaited sequels in cinema Malcolm D. Lee assembles much of the original cast from Best Mans Wedding from 1999 Nia Long, Taye Diggs, Melissa de Sousa, Regina Hall, Morris Chestnut, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Monica Calhoun, and Harold Perrineau This time the story is centered around Christmas with everyone coming back for a reunion Mia has sent invitations to them, Harper is struggling as a successful author so he might be forced to write about his friends to make it big, Julian is having conflicting thoughts considering his wife Cadace's former profession, Jordan has a new boyfriend who always travels, Lance is a successful athlete but his wife Mia is sick, and Shelby is a successful reality tv star with a daughter who can't help but flaunt herself All kinds of shenanigans ensue in the house they're all staying in with big secrets and reveals in the process Quentin is the voice of reason as it turns out pointing out these people have mistakes in their lives A lot of it is predictable, disjointed, and suffers tonal shifts but this has so much heart and give credit to the actors making it stand out They really embrace these characters making it an entertaining watch A very worthy follow-up to the original even 10 years later Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/16/23 Full Review Steve D No better or worse than the original. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/18/23 Full Review Rashida Babbs L Morris Chestnut brings to the surface the children created with other women and how prayer and fasting molded the family in the strength that is displayed Peacock and best Man Chronicles should be made available on Tubi, Pluto TV, FreeVee, Crackle, YouTube.com Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/03/23 Full Review Georgan G 3 & 1/4 stars. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Nothing like the 1st movie… This movie is so depressing. I was so excited to watch it thinking I was going to laugh like I did with the first one, and I ended up depressing as hell. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/23 Full Review Angela C Friendship is hard and marriage and parenthood are harder. This movie shows a group of friends navigating all that mostly not so well but in the end they are closer than ever. Uplifting and engaging.
