James Kendrick Q Network Film Desk clear tension between Lo's desire for more comical violence (at one point Cheng throws a character through a wall, leaving a Looney Tunes-esque person-shaped hole) and Lee's desire for more realistic fighting Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 8, 2021 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The story is largely pointless, full of irrational decisions by unthinking, broadly drawn stereotypes, and ultimately used as a meager setup for grand melees. Rated: 6/10 Aug 27, 2020 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Efficiently paced, well-choreographed and full of entertaining moments featuring Lee, The Big Boss is the prototype for the template Lee would use over his next three features. Rated: 3/5 Aug 26, 2020 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Rough in spots and rambling in others, it nevertheless benefits from Lee's effortless charisma and, of course, some rousing fight scenes. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 8, 2020 Full Review Ed Travis Cinapse It's clear why The Big Boss became a smash hit... the unprecedented furious star power of an unleashed Bruce Lee. Jul 22, 2020 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending The most grounded of Bruce Lee's films, right down to its somber, downbeat ending. Rated: 3/5 Aug 30, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

noah g the fight scenes were pretty good, it was an ok movie Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/24 Full Review CodyZamboni Movie is an exciting star making vehicle for Bruce Lee. Film really pushes all the right emotional buttons, as Lee, new to Thailand, starts off, by staying out of daily melees, but when drug smuggling goons go after his family, Lee unloads his martial arts, fists, kicks, gravity defying leaps, knifes, axes, sticks, on the bad guys. Surprisingly gory, with brutal fights, with one especially epic final boss battle that is expertly choreographed for maximum excitement. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review Matthew C Just sooo dated and fake now. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/19/23 Full Review DanTheMan 2 Extended Manadrin Cut Hard to believe that I hadn't seen any of Bruce's films until today but it was for good reason. I knew that Arrow Video had this 4K set lined up for a while so I was waiting to see what they would offer before taking that dive into Bruce's starring roles and I thought I'd better start here. It's easy to see why The Big Boss was such a hit upon its release back in 1971, granted it's a bit rough in some spots and rambling in others, with Director Lo Wei often conflating the tone of Loony Tunes slapstick and logic with the grounded and gritty reality of the world, but it benefits from Lee's effortless charisma, efficient pacing, well-choreographed and brutally rousing fights and brilliantly entertaining moments that so define Hong Kong cinema. With the now legendary long-lost extended cut available for the world to see, Arrow Video once again retain its kingly crown when it comes to home video releases. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Brent A 20% rating ... The storyline felt very subpar, as did the acting. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/03/23 Full Review William J Not five star worthy but still a good movie that any fan of Bruce Lee or martial arts in general needs to watch.
