Richard Morgan, 53, is a pillar of society; successful stockbroker and firm patriarch of his family. He knows what's best for wife Kelly and his 18 year old son, Sam. He plays the role of protector and provider, but an inability to express his emotions keeps him at a chilly distance. And recently this dysfunction has evolved into something else entirely.... He is also a slave in an extramarital findom affair. This pay pig loves his master, Princess Paige, setting him degrading humiliation tasks, controlling all his finances and spending his hard earned money. This is a high-wire balancing act, but it's about to get much worse. On the day of his son's graduation dinner, he realizes he has let Paige drain an account housing the money for the graduation gift -- a new car. Now over the course of one Saturday, Richard must try and find money for the car, keep his secret life hidden from Kelly and Sam and organize the dinner, all the while keeping his mistress happy as to not have her disseminate the blackmail video to his professional network. But as every one of Richard's relationships crashes in flames, he becomes more aware of the corrupted manhood at the heat of being. Will he transcend and grow or will his insistence to cling to old ways destroy his entire life?

Jake Wilson The Age (Australia) In the end, we’re supposed to feel something for all the characters. But that depends on getting us to see them not as caricatures but as credible people -- a trick the film doesn’t always manage. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 10, 2023 Full Review Surya Komal Just for Movie Freaks The Big Dog is a bold and chaotic film that mixes biting satire with moments of raw humor and drama. While its flaws—underdeveloped characters and uneven pacing—are noticeable, McCusker’s captivating storytelling mark him as a director to watch. Rated: 3.5/5 Dec 3, 2024 Full Review Federico Furzan Movie-Blogger.com Whether you connect with Richard's quest to leave his old lifestyle or not, The Big Dog is a bold approach to its subgenre that some will find appealing. Rated: 3/5 Dec 2, 2024 Full Review Tony Asankomah GhMovieFreak While the ending may falter, the journey there is undeniably entertaining and layered with enough nuance to leave viewers reflecting long after the credits roll. Rated: 7/10 Nov 26, 2024 Full Review KT Mahe For Your Reference Podcast There were a lot of elements that added to the mania but bringing substance to the characters would have created more resonance in the climax. What The Big Dog absolutely commits and delivers is going full balls to the wall. Rated: 3/5 Nov 14, 2023 Full Review Oti For Your Reference Podcast The Big Dog grips with its dark humour and complexity. Intriguingly crafted, making it a memorable watch.
