evan g Brilliant, tortured comic doesn't quite get the break his more famous peers do making for a quality documentary. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member You have seen this guy on many shows and if you love unapologetic humor(what other kind is there) you will love this gloomy Gus. He will crack you up. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A touching portrait of an artist struggling to move past his own issues to forge a path back to the career that those issues de-railed. Steven Feinartz manages to make an honest film, but never at the sacrifice of the dignity of Eddie Pepitone. What emerges is a film that is entertaining, insightful and encaging. Pepitone's career may be different than most of us, but this documentary gets to the true heart of why we love comics --- they are brave enough to use the tragedy and challenges of life and fuel into an art form that aside from the results being angry and funny --- the strongest comedians are those to whom we relate. Pepitone's story is powerful glimpse into the strength of being human. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Halfway-decent doc, but a good window into Eddie Pepitone's life. I'm a fan of his, but I dunno if this would be a good introduction to him if you aren't already one. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A good view for any comedy nerd (like me). Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Fun doc about one of the most underrated stand-ups around Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Michael Phillips Chicago Tribune The film succeeds in reflecting the weird sweetness in Pepitone. Mar 19, 2013 Full Review Brian Tallerico HollywoodChicago.com Few comics with this degree of rage have been this self-aware and comical about it. He's a fascinating blend of NYC anger and L.A. trends. He's a wannabe vegan with road rage. 'Nuff said. Rated: 3.5/5.0 Mar 15, 2013 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter This loving portrait of the angst-ridden comedian should well lift his profile. Mar 13, 2013 Full Review Ron Wilkinson Monsters and Critics Half successful standup comic Eddie Pepitone expands the screen from stage to life as he lives his part 24 hours a day. Rated: 7/10 May 8, 2013 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews An enjoyable lighthearted watch about someone you want to root for to succeed. Rated: B Mar 22, 2013 Full Review Brent Simon Shared Darkness Forget the tears of a clown as it pertains to inner psychology of a comedian -- what about the rage of a clown? That's the principal focus of The Bitter Buddha, a doc that's too polite and removed. Rated: C- Mar 20, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews
