But I would say that it DEFINITELY is a consciousness raising film. Frankie Muniz does a masterful job of portraying someone in the throws of a psychotic, or hyper-manic episode. Anyone who has had experience will definitely feel the pain and anxiety that goes along with it. The blurring between reality and delusion is often enhanced by reality in these cases. Was he really dealing with malevolent supernatural forces? Or is it all the result of a psychotic episode? As in real life, it’s often a mixture of both reality and delusion. I was quite taken in by his performance. If you want insight into the mind of someone who is battling with delusional psychosis? This is worth a watch. Frankie Muniz was excellent. I wish the ending was different but to be expected. I am surprised that people mentioned "sex" and "gore" as this barely had any.
