Fr. Eric H For some reason most Americans get very wrapped up in ghost hunting shows. No matter how obnoxious, stupid, senseless, repetitious, or boring. Somehow everyone finds something to enjoy in such a show. I watch them because I enjoy seeing locations and having a good laugh. Why do so many of us derive some sort of pleasure from the stupidity of ghost hunting? The beginning of this film, with the annoying uneducated hillbilly voice over, is enough to chase people away from THE BLACKWELL GHOST. A stupid mockumentary in the style of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT—which actually succeeded in deceiving an entire generation as to its veracity—this is a mockumentary in the worst and laziest style. If I didn't know better and didn't find this mockumentary quite so irritating, I would guess they were trying to be humorous—to show the ridiculous side of ghost hunting chose. But I just don't see any cleverness here. The trouble with this 60 minute film is the way everyone is in on it—everybody peddles this as a documentary. It is well known that this is a mockumentary, and I really despise the selling of cheap garbage as the genuine article. The biggest slip up is presenting this idiot—who supposedly made this film—his stupid face there all the time, and his ridiculous alleged Kentucky accent like nails on a chalkboard. I find it odd that the documentary begins with this man yammering about his journalism teacher. He sometimes gives it a rest to yammer about all the zombie movies he says he's made. If this is supposed to be a world-changing mockumentary, rest assured, it isn't. It's a piece of garbage that is changing the low-bar level. I’m now just finished 6 and my first thought of this being a fictional account is coming through. Either way, still a great watch and the story lines suck you in. The use of Social Media adds a great touch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/26/25 Full Review Angie P The movie has some scary moments, and is a pretty quick watch. Pretty good, and a great way to start a found footage franchise. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/28/25 Full Review Ricardo d Demorado, cansativo pois a edição trata o diálogo extenso como natural. O climax nem chega ao seu máximo. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/02/25 Full Review Mike t Nice video, I love seeing a skeptic wake up when they actually see things they cannot explain. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/25 Full Review Robyn H This whole series is an incredible slow burn that gets more and more intense. The slow burn and tension building aspects means you are jumping at things you stopped being scared of in your teens. Any kind of spoiler will ruin it. So just go watch!
