SkyRo P @TheMovieSearch 01/21/2025 "The Bling Ring" was an intriguing film featuring Austin Butler alongside a cast of actresses I wasn't familiar with. Initially, I found the premise a bit confusing, but as the story unfolded, I became interested in the creative direction it was taking. However, while the film started with potential, it ultimately lost its momentum. I couldn't shake the feeling that the production was low-budget, which affected the overall quality of the filmmaking. The constant influx of new characters felt jarring and unnecessary, contributing to a sense of discomfort. As the story progressed, the group of characters seemed to grow without purpose, only to disband later, leaving me questioning their relevance to the plot. The film had a decent start, largely thanks to the youthful charm of Austin Butler, which initially captured my attention. However, the narrative took a strange turn. His character was rife with anxiety at times, yet there were moments when he appeared completely unfazed by situations that should have triggered his anxiety. This inconsistency in character development made it hard to follow a coherent storyline; it felt more like a series of disconnected events rather than a cohesive narrative. While I wouldn't say it's a film I'd eagerly rewatch, I can see myself giving it another go because it was interesting enough to warrant a second viewing. He was really good in this. I wasn't expecting much, but found a really enjoyable film with good performances by everyone. It was also great to see Jennifer Grey. I think this version, which was made before the Coppola version, had more substance and was more entertaining. See more 12/14/2015 I was hoping to catch the 2013 version, but I actually really liked this Lifetime version. I really enjoyed watching Austin Butler and the movie turned out to be pretty good.
