See more Claudio C May 6 The Block Island Sound (2020) Fishes and Humans (11,673 – 05 May 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) In the coast of Block Island, the fisherman Tom (Neville Archambault) wakes up confused on his boat that is a mess. In the island, there is a strange phenomenon where about 9 tons of fish are found dead on the beach. His daughter, the biologist Audry (Michaela McManus), who lives on the continent, is sent by the environment agency where she works to the island with her assistant Paul (Ryan O’Flanagan) to investigate the strange happening. She uses the opportunity to bring her daughter Emily "Em" (Matilda Lawler) to visit her father and her brother Harry (Chris Sheffield), who lives with him and stay with them in their house. Meanwhile, Tom seems to be confused and irresponsible, and during the night, he takes his boat to navigate and disappears into the sea. Soon the police find his body on the beach. Harry’s estranged sister Jen (Heidi Niedermeyer) comes to Block Island from New York for the funeral while Harry’s behavior changes, with memory lapses and grumpy. Then he borrows scuba equipment to dive in the location Tom drowned, and faints. He wakes up in the vessel listening to strange noises. He starts to have visions of Tom and shows the same behavior of his father and Audry takes him to the doctor for medical examination. What is happening in Block Island? "The Block Island Sound" (2020) is a scary sci-fi without monsters about alien abduction. The plot is mysterious, with the local Tom and his son Harry showing a strange behavior after visiting a location into the sea. The plot is intelligent, and the viewer must pay attention when Audry explains to Emily that she captures certain fish from the sea to study and understand them. When Audry is dropped into the sea, the viewer sees the analogy of the aliens with humans and the biologists and the fishes. My vote is seven.
