Christina Newland iNews.co.uk This movie is wonderfully emblematic of both the pains and the joys of building something to last. Rated: 4/5 Sep 18, 2024 Full Review Chris Shields Sight & Sound What at first appears to be a story of secret lives and betrayal destined for a tragic end becomes a nuanced portrait of unconditional love and acceptance at its most radical. Jun 8, 2023 Full Review David Stratton The Australian This is a tender, beautiful film. Not only is it visually rich but there’s an above-average soundtrack... Rated: 4/5 May 18, 2023 Full Review Connor Lightbody TAKE ONE Magazine an achingly rich tale of conquering love [that is] sewn together with great care and attention as Touzani refuses to let the film descend into melodrama Rated: 4.5/5 Jul 4, 2024 Full Review Clive Paget Limelight It’s also a love letter to the movies, laced with nostalgia for a simpler, analogue age... The rise of British nationalism in the Thatcher era lends grit and gives the drama a kick in the pants whenever it threatens to topple over into sentiment. Rated: 4.5/5 Dec 8, 2023 Full Review Jason Blake Limelight Woven with exquisite care and respect, Maryam Touzani’s Arabic language drama depicts a love triangle of a middle-aged couple and a young man who works in their small tailoring business in a Moroccan town. Martin Excellent acting, compelling story, beautifully photographed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Albert I thought the photography captured the mood of the film.. The acting by the three main characters was portrayed not only in their words but in the silence of the looks on their faces, especially those of the two men. All in all, it was a beautiful film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review w donald s The three principal actors were outstanding. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Roy J Interesting story with great acting and characters. A little longer than it needed to be, but the final act is quite brilliant. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Ed B Good movie, The older Moroccan actor is handsome. The story is great, but the lack of passion between the two males is visible. Maybe because they want the movie to be showed in Morocco, they avoid kisses, bed scenes and sleeping together between the two men, or the major actor refused to do it. Great move, but not realistic enough when talking about male same-sex connection. I still recommend the movie. Very poetic, but could be much better if the director and actors were more open minded. I give it 4 stars of 5. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/21/25 Full Review john b Slow moving, but well done. The 3 leads are excellent. The photography and music add much.
