Thelma Adams AARP Movies for Grownups Dad never listens. Rated: 4/5 Jun 16, 2023 Full Review Christy Lemire FilmWeek (LAist) It has a really cool and universally relatable premise... But the rules are confusing and convoluted. Jun 6, 2023 Full Review Rex Reed Observer A pointless, misguided and totally incomprehensible waste of time, is yet another horror film that exists for the sole purpose of exploiting the endless desk-drawer doodlings of writer Stephen King. Rated: 0/4 Jun 5, 2023 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Me gusta el cine It manages to develop several suspenseful sequences; some jump scares took me by surprise; the theme of grief and family issues gives the characters some dimension, and Sophie Thatcher (of whom I'm already a fan) stands out. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 1, 2025 Full Review Maxance Vincent Film Speak Most of the cinematography is murky and dull to look at, with scenes in the dark being far too dark for the human eye to perceive something. Rated: D+ Jul 13, 2025 Full Review Paul Klein FILMHOUNDS Magazine What the film wants to be is a metaphor for the grieving process and how if we let things fester in the darkness they will thrive, but when we bring them into the light, we can triumph. Crystal B I’m not even sure what to say….. what did I just watch? While this film was loosely based on a short story by Stephen King, I can’t even believe that so he must be upset with this movie as well. Most of the movie was shot in the dark so the audience could barely see anything, and felt very low budget. Outside of the low budget, the acting was nothing spectacular either. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/19/24 Full Review Kim I didn't see this movie Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review Dominique I don’t really like scary movies I got talked into going tho lol, but i think if your into them it’s a really good movie Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/07/23 Full Review Brandon Richardson The Boogeyman is one of the better Stephen King adaptations. It’s planned out well with its casting and horror sequences. But it shouldn’t be the top choice when looking for intense scares. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/01/23 Full Review Oak Decent pacing and good scares but it felt rushed at times like the scenes didn't play together well at times. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/27/23 Full Review Cam It was really predictable, but I did like some of the suspense and jump scares. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
