Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) This is the most nerve-wracking small horror film that I have seen in a very, very long time. Jul 31, 2021 Full Review John Anderson Wall Street Journal It's remarkable how much dreadful mileage Messrs. Powell and Charbonier get out of Kevin and Bobby's plight, far more than if the tween boys were simply threatened with death. Jul 30, 2021 Full Review Elisabeth Vincentelli New York Times The movie does not transcend its virtuosic, almost abstractly taut storytelling. Jul 29, 2021 Full Review Jordy Sirkin Jordy Reviews It An exhilarating experience that subverts expectations and only adds to the suspense as it veers further. Feb 22, 2023 Full Review Andy Lea Daily Express (UK) The premise is queasy but, if you can stomach the opening half hour, this expertly crafted chiller should pin you to your sofa. Rated: 4/5 May 2, 2022 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X Chavis and Dewey both give powerful, well-nuanced performances. Rated: B+ Mar 15, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Andrew S What happens when the good guy and the monster die relatively early in the story? Well… This is an edge of your seat experience. The monster has a MAGA bumper sticker, which I liked. The evil orchestrator was a white woman with zero compassion, which I also liked. Subtext, though sparse, lands well. Unfortunately, no one in this story was allowed a shred of personality. One of the most tense movies I’ve seen this year, but also one of the driest. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review Kevin H Clearly the directors think the audience is stupid.. from turning a clearly male 2nd antagonist into a small woman to insinuating that the murderers are part of the MAGA movement. The “twists” were, in fact, this movies downfall; without them this movie would have been elevated to the level of any B+ kidnapping thriller. So incredibly disappointing. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Christie D I'm not sure what movie these people were watching either. But this movie was awful. I understand the kid didn't want to leave his friend but what was he doing!?! For the kid being 12 yrs old he should have some level of intelligence and a natural fight or flight mode. This movie was really drug out with alot of dumb situations involving the kid. However the ending was ok. I personally wouldn't recommend to anyone. I have a hard time with movies that involve hurting kids, so if you're a momma this maybe hard to watch. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Thirdi A This movie is a waste of time. Lazy, predictable and unrealistic. Leaves you rooting against the kids and irritated with the writing. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Mario C Don't waste your time watching, completely unrealistic. Bad directing and storyline, even worse acting. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Chelly M These kids were slow asf ! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
