Leslie Felperin Guardian A regular beat of tension and release plays out as people get saved only to face new dangers, following the template of disaster films since the beginning of cinema, but it’s done well here. Rated: 2/5 May 24, 2022 Full Review Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) It's really well done... All those special effects are used in the correct way. Mar 12, 2022 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News [It takes] the time to develop each character and the special effects don’t bludgeon you over the head. Rated: 3/4 Mar 1, 2022 Full Review Guillermo Courau La Nación (Argentina) Both the prologue and epilogue give the movie a mockumentary patina as if to raise environmental awareness, but strictly speaking, what's in between is standard lackluster and predictable entertainment. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 2.5/5 Jun 8, 2023 Full Review Jorge Montiel Clarín Although the plot owes a lot to the great Hollywood catastrophe genre spectacle, there is no cool ensemble in The Burning Sea, nor do the heroes have the muscles of Dwayne Johnson, the successful ex-wrestler known as The Rock. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/4 Jun 8, 2023 Full Review Miguel Calabria EscribiendoCine The action scenes make this an entertaining and easy watch and while it doesn't rise above other productions in the genre, The Burning Sea is halfway between being original and predictable. Tom S Pretty good until the ending. Spoiler alert ....................................... a thick oil slick doesn't burn off in 10 minutes plus the wells would have kept spewing oil. I was hoping Hollywood wouldn't have infected this movie but, oh well..... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Jyl B It had many opportunities for a more intriguing story and acting. A little suspenseful but I wouldn't go as far as to call it gripping. I watched the English dubbed version. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/17/23 Full Review A B I really enjoyed this movie. It was very well acted and gripping to watch. Touching story. Subtitles a bonus for those of us with hearing impairments or in a hotel room where you want the sound down. I found myself googling it afterwards as I was curious to see if it was based on real events. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review brian w A worthy movie, plausible situation, love finds a way. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This disaster movie was pretty good. The entire cast and crew did a pretty good job on this movie. The plot of the movie was dramatic, intense, and thrilling. It's about rescuing the people you love and fighting to survive a major disaster. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you may enjoy it. It's worth it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review philip c Well done. Excellent efx. Good story line, solid acting. Occasionally slow. Plausible disaster story. Entertaining.
