Critics Consensus

The Case for Christ shouldn't be dismissed, but like many faith-based productions, it's better at preaching to the choir than reaching the unconverted.

Simran Hans Observer (UK) It's clearly intended as a teaching text, though its evidence-based defence of faith ... is a straw-man argument unlikely to have nonbelievers queuing up to be baptised. Rated: 2/5 Sep 17, 2017 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) This is profoundly silly Christian recruitment propaganda masquerading as newsroom drama. Rated: 2/5 Sep 14, 2017 Full Review Linda Marric HeyUGuys On the whole, the film does exactly what is expected from it, but fails to ultimately convince and is eventually let down by a poorly executed screenplay and an almost ludicrous storyline. Rated: 2/5 Sep 14, 2017 Full Review Hosea Rupprecht Pauline Center for Media Studies The Case for Christ, although the story of one man's journey to faith, can also inspire life-long believers... Aug 26, 2021 Full Review Tyler Smith Battleship Pretension It manages to present a more accurate and relatable Gospel than we've really ever seen before in the Christian film world. Jul 9, 2019 Full Review Ruth Maramis FlixChatter Film Blog For someone who loves journalism films like Spotlight, The Insider, etc., the investigative aspect certainly appeals to me. No, this film didn't quite rise to the level of those films, but still one that's well worth your time. Rated: 3/5 Apr 19, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

bradley g I felt the movie did a amazing job of teaching evidence for Christ and dismissing objections to claims against God. The actor did a amazing job selling the role and making it believable. It's based on a true story and gives a beautiful layout of how Lee came to find his faith in God through evidence and personal experience. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/10/24 Full Review Joshua H Finally saw it and I was very impressed, this is a very good retelling of the real life events that led the man to write a incredibly successful book of the same name. If your a Christian you will get lots out of the film but even if your not I think you'll get something from in the sense of the solid cast and some really good acting scenes. Overall, it's a great story about a man's journey from atheism to faith through the relationship with his wife and the load of true facts about the crucifixion and the resurrection. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Mark J Well I read the critiques. Most of them are hating on it for obvious reasons… it doesn't line up with their atheist views and I understand but what bothers me is how far people are willing to take it with lies and gaslighting to defend something they're not even sure of and lacks foundation. If you want hate on it just leave your 1 star without lying to the public. It's a great movie worth watching, gorgeous family that goes through trouble but sticks to each other like the way it's supposed to be, teaching society the good ways. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review Andrea F What an amazing movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/21/23 Full Review Jason P I already believe and do not require proof, I watched this for entertainment. However, it is a sin how long this movie is. Slow, melodramatic, and overall, stupid. How many people didn't even finish this movie and get even one point from it because of how boring it was? Too many, I'm sure. They should have done better. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Great acting, good story line, and the facts presented are from experts in the field and often from non-Christian sources. I enjoyed it very much! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
