Luke Buckmaster Guardian There are so many people but so few characters. Such a big story, with so little feeling. Rated: 2/5 Aug 18, 2021 Full Review Barry Hertz Globe and Mail Cave Rescue can forever claim to be the first movie made about an unforgettable ordeal. But that's all anyone will remember it for. Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 5, 2020 Full Review Elizabeth Kerr Hollywood Reporter While the world could use some positivity and a demonstration of nations and states coming together for a greater good, The Cave isn't cinematic enough to have real impact. Oct 8, 2019 Full Review Guillermo Courau La Nación (Argentina) ... Faithful to the rescue that grabbed the world's attention in 2018, which adds points in terms of historical record, but subtracts them in dramatic terms. [Full review in Spanish] May 18, 2022 Full Review Sarah Ward Concrete Playground Barely resembles a movie, and has more in common with true-crime TV show re-enactments... makes an immense feat look, feel and seem all too ordinary. Sep 12, 2021 Full Review Jorge Ignacio Castillo Prairie Dog Magazine One could venture the absence of checks and balances allowed this to happen. Tom Waller directed, produced and co-wrote Cave Rescue. It has "passion project" written all over. Rated: 1.5/5 Apr 6, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Ben D The movie was about a significant incident and I was intrested to see it. The problem was most of it assumed a knowledge of Thai Language. Subtitles were required. Without them a lot of the impact of personal conversation was lost. This should be rectified. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/24/22 Full Review Audience Member This was such a good movie. They use the real people. It made me cry - so emotional. Also, there is great cameo of Thai PM. Hahaha. So funny! If you follow the Moo Pa story you need to see this film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review mauro l The cave, quarry, cavern is one of the most widespread symbols in the history of humanity, and Waller does not provide many didascalic indications: we moviegoers grope in the dark as much as the real protagonists immersed in those murky waters. Unlike "High Life" (Denis 2018), it was not necessary to resort to sci-fi to talk about existential black holes and, unlike "The 33" (Riggen 2015), in "The Cave" there are no actors of international fame: since the priority of the Thai government was to limit the approach to the children protagonists, the director chose to focus on the rescue team, in which several divers do not act but interpret themselves managing to convey a strong charge of realism. This has emphasized the metaphysical scope of the affair and raises far from trivial questions: is messianic salvation really found by coming out of the place where we are confined and imprisoned? (Mauro Lanari) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie focuses only on the rescue people which is a bit disappointing that the audience would want to feel how the trapped kids have faced too. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Rough and ready with a mix of real participants and actors. I loved it but don't expect a Hollywood blockbuster.
