Cary Darling Houston Chronicle This twisty thriller...is what might happen if Quentin Tarantino, with a bit of an assist from John Woo, Park Chan-wook's "Old Boy" and the spirit of Alfred Hitchcock, had directed an episode of "Succession." Rated: 4/5 Jun 26, 2023 Full Review Rubén Romero Santos Cinemanía (Spain) Park Hoon-jung's new film is an example of what action should be like in Southeast Asian cinema, and Kim Seon-ho, one of the protagonists, offers a wicked spectacle with each choreography. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4/5 Feb 27, 2024 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed The Childe is a solid action drama with action sequences that work, good acting, and well-done cinematography. It’s a more than good, almost great, action film with characters that are fun to watch and join in on their crazy adventure. Rated: 4.5/5 Jan 19, 2024 Full Review Douglas Davidson Elements of Madness Sprinkled with humor and stunts galore, audiences looking for an action thriller will delight in Park’s latest, all while on the edge of their seat, unprepared for the surprises about to unfold before us. Rated: 4/5 Jan 16, 2024 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis HanCinema Some plot holes do appear throughout the movie, but as a whole, "The Childe" definitely makes sense, while its second part provides a very entertaining return to the Golden Age of Korean action thrillers. ActionLovingGal This movie is a fun & action-packed watch! Definitely one of Director/Screenwriter Park Hoon Jung’s lighter action films. The story could’ve had more depth to it in my opinion but worth-watching for Kim Seonho’s portrayal of a stylish and cocky assassin also armed with dry humor. This movie also has good potential for a pre/sequel! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/05/23 Full Review michael Slow start then got interesting. Funny. Worth the ticket. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/04/23 Full Review Mar Seonho did amazing in the movie! Highly recommend the movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/04/23 Full Review Manue Yane Intense and mysterious, with enough action to compliment its inching reveal. With characters from an unseen perspective and world that makes it a fresh weird view. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review Andrew G Perfect amount of seriousness and comedy and over the top moments. Main actor delivered as always. Definitely would recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review Norm V. Action packed but trying too hard to be funny. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
